Oils for Yogis

Hey everyone! As someone with a passion for oils, I couldn't help but look into how I could enhance my yogi experience with oils! After some research and experimenting, here are my top 5 favorite oils and combinations to enhance your yogi experience!

Lavender is an extremely relaxing, grounding scent that will create a peaceful, serene environment. A peaceful environment is key to help you focus on the present instead of dwelling on what was and what is to be.

Peppermint is a clean, refreshing scent. Diffuse 3 drops of Peppermint and 3 drops of Lavender to promote awareness of the breath and movement of the body. Promoting awareness will allow you to not only discover a sense of unity within the body, but it will allow for the discovery of comfort within your yogi experience.

Frankincense will promote spirituality, positive thinking, balance, and inner strength. These are the most important benefits of the yogi experience. Direct inhalation prior to your grounding will ensure that you get the best experience.

R.C. is a very beneficial oil when focusing on opening up the chest and getting in touch with the spirit. Applying R.C. to the chest and feet will allow for a deeper sense of grounding and it will promote an openness within the body to enhance movement and strength. Combining R.C. and a carrier oil will create a soothing massage oil for relaxing the muscles after your yogi experience.

Thieves is an oil that promotes clarity and cleanliness. Cleaning your yoga mat, carpet, blanket, and/or floor is something that is often looked past. Keeping our area clean and fresh is essential maintaining a healthy, balanced, and productive yogi environment. Mix 2-3 drops of Thieves into a cup of distilled water. Put this mixture into a spray bottle and spray it onto your yoga accessories that you have used. Follow the spray with a dry cloth and store these in a well ventilated area to deter the growth of bacteria.

BTW! You can use these for regular workouts, relaxing, massages, and cleaning! That's the beauty of using oils – they are SO versatile! Let me know what you guys think in the comments below!
